On our way to meet family near Missoula, we had three quick stops: Douglas, WY, Billings and Butte, MT. The weather was unfortunately cold and/or rainy in all locations, however, we still had enjoyable stays. Douglas, WY is known as the “Home of the Jackalope”; unfortunately, I actually believed for a few seconds. The North Platte River Trail was near our campsite and had pretty views and a bald eagle nest. There were also a lot of prairie dogs and pronghorn nearby. We absolutely loved Ayers Natural Bridge and the surrounding park. Our next stop was Billings, MT, where we enjoyed the Shiloh Conservation area, in between rain showers. Butte, MT was mostly a bust, due to cold and rain, however, there was a wildlife refuge and bird sanctuary in walking distance from the RV. We hope to get a chance to visit these cities again in better weather conditions.
