We are a little behind posting our adventures, as we have been visiting family and had some software issues with our blog. We will catch up in the next couple of weeks. Our drive from Pennsylvania through Maryland to West Virginia in early September was very different from our routes in 2023. We had not driven through mountains much this year, and it was a beautiful, but a little bit scary drive due to major hills and lots of curves! We stayed at an unusual KOA in Sutton, WV that when you arrived, you actually checked in the Days Inn Hotel. It was a very hilly campground, not particularly well suited for large rigs like ours. However, we definitely enjoyed the pool, patio and hotel amenities. Next stop was in Kentucky, a new state for us in our RV. We stayed at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY and loved biking the wonderful Legacy Trail. We celebrated Mike’s birthday in a nearby Georgetown, KY, an adorable small town. Grayville, IL was our next destination. Mike had a great time birding and exploring Cane Ridge Station just over the state line in Indiana, and Julie hiked in Beall Woods State Park. Mike picked a great spot for Julie’s birthday, Beyond the Trail RV Park in Defiance, MO. It was a fantastic park right on the Katy Trail, with gorgeous views and restaurants we could walk to. We both love this 240 mile trail and love biking on it any time we are in Missouri.
Looking forward to visiting family and friends in Kansas City and Omaha next!
