Winter Garden, FL

We spent the first two weeks of January in Winter Garden, FL. Three years ago we came here to do some final research before purchasing our RV. We actually returned to the same dealer, Independence RV, to have some repair work completed on our air conditioning. I had several great bike rides on the West Orange and Lake Trails that we had biked previously. We also biked new trails in and around Lake Apopka, which was truly beautiful. The Lake Apopka Wildlife drive was one of Mike’s favorite activities, as we saw tons of birds and he had many opportunities to use his new camera. We also loved watching the Spacex Falcon 9 launch from our RV site. Pretty cool!

The best part of this trip was spending time with our children. We decided to try something different this year, and postponed our family Christmas celebration until after the first of year, as flights/hotels are cheaper and it is easier for them to get time off work. We decorated the condo for the holiday, hung the stockings, made Christmas cookies and followed other traditions. The kids went to Harry Potter World together and had a great time. We enjoyed spending time at the resort, nearby Lake Louisa State Park and had several wonderful meals together. It worked out very well and we plan on doing the same in Texas next year.
