We finally made it to East Texas to visit with family members during this crazy time. It was a very different experience keeping our distance and not being able to give or receive hugs. Everyone had been very careful during the past six to eight weeks following all guidelines, and we continued to use caution throughout our visit. Our first stop was just outside Tyler, Texas to visit with Mike’s brother John and his wife Cheri. They have a beautiful house in the country, so we enjoyed spending time outside and walking the trails John had made on the property. Cheri and I also got in a walk on the Rose Rudman trail and I ran on the Legacy trails. Our next stop was near Canton, Texas to visit my sister Laurie and her husband Mark. We were able to share meals outside our RV due to lovely weather and spend some time on their dairy farm. I enjoyed walking and running at the trails at Cherry Creek park, especially when Laurie was able to join me. Our final stop was Hidden Cove Park in Frisco, Texas to visit our daughter Erica and her husband Shane, who live in Dallas. The park was on Lake Lewisville with huge RV sites in a lovely setting. We had a great time hiking the trails and kayaking on the lake. We also met at a Dallas Park for a take-out picnic and a nice walk on the White Rock Trail. It was so wonderful to see family and spend quality time together! We are looking forward to seeing more family in Kansas City and Omaha.
