Sedona is definitely one of the crown jewels of the state of Arizona. The mountain views on the Red Rock Scenic highway were simply breathtaking. We booked our stay at “Rancho Sedona RV Park” several months in advance and had a beautiful premium spot with tons of space. The park is very conveniently located and you can easily walk or bike to get around town. We had a ten minute walk to a wonderful restaurant the “Creekside American Bistro”. We were able to dine outdoors and enjoy delicious food and an amazing view.
The mountain biking and hiking in Sedona are definitely some of the best in the U.S. We rode the “Intro to Sedona Trail” and the “Fat Tire Loop” together. “Mike rode the Grand Central/Adobe Jack” trail by himself (too technical for me) while I went running. The views were just stunning and the trails were very well maintained. We hiked a lot of shorter trails, especially to see the sunset. Our favorite trail was probably “Devils Bridge”. We actually met a young couple on this trail, that were originally from Virginia, which was really nice, as we haven’t met many people during the pandemic. We also drove our SUV on unpaved, rocky and beautiful Schnebly Hill Road. It did finally get too rough, so we turned around and hiked instead, which was just as nice and safer!
We can’t say enough good things about this place, we absolutely loved it and wish we could have stayed much longer. We definitely plan to come again and stay a month or more if possible, to fully explore everything Sedona has to offer. We would definitely recommend adding this destination to your bucket list!
