We loved all the wildflowers in the woods and along hiking paths during our short stay in the Ozarks. We had been in the area several times before, however, we had never visited Springfield, Missouri. It had a very quaint downtown and a surprising amount of biking and hiking trails. The stormy weather continued to follow us, but thank goodness no tornado warnings while we were in town. We have been very fortunate and feel so badly for all those impacted by the tornadoes and flooding this past month.
Biking on the Frisco Highline Trail was the highlight of this trip. It is a 35 mile trail that had multiple cute sculptures made by local artists, charming rest areas, and bridges. There were several interconnecting trails that were near our campground. We hiked and bird watched on the Fulbright Spring Greenway and Valley Water Mill Pond. It was a very restful stop on our journey to visit family and friends in Kansas City and Omaha next month.
