Port Aransas Beach

Port Aransas, Texas is a great beach to visit in April, as the weather is nice and it is not very crowded. We stayed at IB Magee Beach Park, which was ideally located steps from the beach and had long concrete pads with full hookups, and to top it off, very inexpensive. We loved being able to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, ice cream, grocery store, Marine Science Institute and the Horace Caldwell Pier. We especially enjoyed looking at all the cool sand sculptures at SandFest 2023, and seeing all the kites and surfers, when were walking and driving on the beach. We also loved coming back to the Turnbull Birding Center, which had been restored quite a bit since our last visit, as had damage from Hurricane Harvey. Mike let me use his old camera while we were birding, which was a really cool experience getting close up shots of birds. I still have a lot to learn, and will continue to share his bird photos, as they will no doubt be better than mine.
