Pennslyvania

We have spent the last five summers in the mountains, and this year, we spent most of it along the gorgeous Great Lakes. So it was especially wonderful to drive through the mountains, be back on the East Coast and to spend time with family in Pennsylvania. We stayed at French Creek Campground and did a lot of hiking, biking, birding, playing games, dog walking, enjoying good food and just relaxing. We also spent a lot of time in the cute little Philadelphia neighborhood of Manayunk, where our family lives. Absolutely love the quaint shops, artwork, the Schuykill and Wissahickon trails, and the vibe of this neighborhood.

We also stayed in Bedford, PA and enjoyed the many covered bridges and biking on the Huntington & Broadtop Trail. Definitely wished we could be here a month or so later, to see all the color changes in the mountains and along the trail. Unfortunately, we got a screw in our truck tire and a dead battery while we were in Bedford. Thankfully they were quickly resolved and caused no issues or delays.

Next heading through West Virginia, Kentucky and Illinois on our way to visit family in Kansas City and Omaha.
