March 2022 started with a wonderful family visit and housewarming in our new winter Texan Home. The kids gave us the best gift; a “Roamin’with the Romes” welcome mat. We had a great time playing games, exploring the parks, bird watching and finishing up a few final decorations to the house while they were in town. It really felt like HOME before they left, especially when we added a painting of our old house they gave us when we started full-time Rving.
Fortunately, our new 2022 Ram 1500 Limited truck finally arrived in Louisiana after their visit. We had ordered it in the summer and expected it to arrive in November or December. We ended up driving to Lake Charles, LA to pick it up, as we couldn’t afford any more delays. We added a SmartCap to the truck to keep our bikes and gear safe from dust, weather and theft. We ordered a white cap to match the truck, but it did not come in, but the black one works just fine. It is so nice to drive a new vehicle with actual back seats and not bikes behind us. It definitely took Julie awhile to get used to because of the size and all the electronics, but she loves it now.
Hope you enjoy a few pictures of our Coach House! It was hard to get good shots for some reason (I know….Julie was taking the picutes!!) You can’t see a lot of features, like the big screen TV, closets, storage, etc., but hopefully it gives you good idea. It is just 480 square feet, but it does not feel small. We put twin beds that can move into a king bed if needed for company, and have extra stools for card games with family friends. It is just a very cozy and relaxing place that we hope to enjoy and stay warm in for many years to come.
Time to head back through Texas and the Midwest to see family and friends!
