Returning to Sedona, one of our favorite places that we have visited in our RV journey, was once again a memorable trip. We stayed at Rancho Sedona RV Park, where we had camped previously, due to its fantastic location. You can walk or bike to almost anywhere in Sedona from the park; restaurants, trails, shopping, etc. I loved being able to go on early morning runs, evening walks or hiking in the Coconino National Forest without having to drive. We highly recommend the food and the view at the “Creekside American Bistro”. It was so good last time, we decided to eat there again, and we were definitely not disappointed. We also tried four-wheeling on Schnebly Hill Road again, but this time we rented a Honda Talon 2-passenger UTV, and successfully traveled the entire trail. The bumpy and rocky road gradually climbs about 6 miles with amazing views of red rocks, until it reaches a spectacular view. The trail is mostly dirt and gravel, for several miles after the vista. Mike drove all of the technical parts, and I drove the easier ones. It was so much fun! We stopped at “Cream & Cake Couture “ for some delicious ice cream. They have been featured on the “Ultimate Cake off” and “Food Network”. Yum!
Mike took two solo birding trips to Oak Creek Canyon, West Fork and the Sedona Wetlands Preserve where he saw a lot of cool birds, plants and wildlife. I hiked Huckaby Trail by myself, which was amazing, until I ran into a hissing snake. Yikes! I high tailed it back ASAP. Mike asked what kind of snake, and why I didn’t take a picture. Ugh! I don’t think it was venomous, but I wasn’t going to stick around to find out. On a more positive note, I definitely had a lovely time window shopping at Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village. “Tlaquepaque” translates to “the best of everything”, and I would have to agree that they definitely had beautiful items. We ended our trip by going to Crescent Moon Ranch and seeing Cathedral Rock for our first time. Just breathtaking beauty!
