Our last three stops in New England were quieter parks, so we could recharge our batteries and do some standard RV maintenance and chores. In Skowhegan, Maine we stayed at a campground on the Kennebec River. The city had some interesting pedestrian bridges, a Riverwalk, and a nice farmers market. We also enjoyed the trails at Lake George Regional Park. Our next campsite was in the White Mountains of New Hampshire along the shore of the Ammonoosuc River. We loved the Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park and the Bridal Veil hike in the White Mountain National Forest. Both hikes ended had beautiful waterfalls. The Ammonoosuc Rail Trail was a little rough, as it is mostly used by OHTV’s and snowmobiles, but it had some great scenery. Our final campsite was in the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts. I had a great time running and biking on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. Mike enjoyed birding at the West Mountain Wildlife Sanctuary.
Next we head into the Mid-Atlantic region of the country and get to visit our former home in Northern, VA.
