We did a lot of driving through New Mexico to escape the snow. Thankfully, the “Land of Enchantment” was full of beautiful mountain views, which made our long journey a lot more pleasant. We had two quick stops in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. An inch of snow did fall while we were in Las Cruces; fortunately it did not cause any issues or delays. Next we headed further south to a wonderful park on the border of New Mexico and Arizona. Rusty’s RV Ranch was an unexpected gem: mountain views, hot tub, trails, pond, great birding, dark skies and large RV sites with plenty of space from your neighbor. The best part was that it was just a few miles away from the Coronado National Forest and Cave Creek Canyon, the Yosemite of Arizona. We we so thankful we were able to enjoy spectacular canyon views, birding, biking and hiking with no crowds, especially in during a pandemic.
