Our first holiday season without a “sticks and bricks house” was low key and peaceful. As our children get older, the focus is on spending time together and not on gifts. We were able to continue many of our traditions and start some new ones. Our customary Christmas hike was at the Cedar Ridge Preserve in Dallas. It was quite a different experience on a mostly flat trail, 68 degrees and sunny skies; versus last year’s hike in the Appalachian mountains in Virginia with wind chill in the teens! The Twelve Days of Christmas exhibit at the Dallas Aboretum was a festive experience and volunteering at the homeless shelter, Austin Street Center helped us to give back to those in need.
We have been truly blessed and are so grateful for being able to retire and start our new full-time RV lifestyle in 2018. We are looking forward to new adventures and challenges in the upcoming year. We wish our friends, families, and followers a fabulous 2019!
