It is hard to believe we have already been living the full-time RV lifestyle for almost 5 months. Our journey started mid-August in Minnesota where we picked up our Motor home, and then to South Dakota to become official residents. We elected to head west, but not too far, as we needed to be in the Omaha/Kansas City area in November for family events. We thoroughly enjoyed the Black Hills, Grand Tetons, Yosemite, Colorado Springs. and New Mexico. From late October until the end of year, we spent relaxing time with family in New Mexico, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas. We encountered a lot more unfavorable weather than we anticipated, due to unusually early cold and snow, and plan to do our best to avoid chilly temperatures going forward.
We rang in the new year in Austin at McKinney Fall State Park. We had a great campsite and found 5 bundles of wood and s’more sticks left for us by the previous campers. It was a wonderful surprise and a good omen for the year to come. We were able to get in several nice runs, hikes and bike rides before the rain came.
Our next stop Lake Corpus Christi State Park…. and we are are finally warm!! Mid-70’s have never felt so good!
