We can’t say enough good things about Lake Cunningham Park in Omaha. The RV sites are inexpensive, large, not too close together, have full hook-ups, concrete pad, and lots of pretty trees. The lake and bike paths make it a perfect place for a long stay to visit family and friends.
We were able to meet up with most of Mike’s family while we were there, and catch up with a few friends. It was especially fun to bike around the lake with Marzouk and to go out to lunch with the Gillespie’s, and visit their business, “Off the Wall” Indoor Soccer.
We stayed at Longview Lake Campground in Lees Summit, MO, again while we were in Kansas City. I was finally able to go to “Hallmarket”, an art festival sponsored by Hallmark. My sister worked for Hallmark for 30 years, and it was great to be able to join her and her artist friends at this event. My mom moved to an independent living apartment in August. It was especially nice to help her finish decorating her apartment. Mike hung up all her pictures and shelves, and everything looks just beautiful in her new home. Definitely enjoy spending quality time with my mom, sister and brother.
We finished the visit by celebrating Mike’s brother Mark’s birthday at a KC Royals vs. NY Yankees baseball game with the Rome clan. It was a great game and tons of fun.
