Our long awaited family vacation in the Grand Tetons was absolutely wonderful! We had not all been together since January 2019, so it was extra special to be able enjoy Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone as a family. We all stayed at the Colter Bay Campground; kids (& spouse) in cabins and parents in the RV. It really helped that we had stayed in this campground three years earlier, and had explored the area, so we knew we to expect. This made planning and coordinating activities much easier. Unfortunately, it was hazy due to the Mosquito fire for several days and there wasn’t enough water in the Colter Bay Marina to Kayak due to drought….but we did not let this ruin our vacation. It did make us sad, and also very grateful that the fires were not causing any damage to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.
The highlights of our trip were white water rafting, floating on the snake river, hiking & biking the trails, wildlife viewing, and just hanging out at the RV; eating, drinking and playing games. We definitely encountered more bears than expected while hiking, which was a little scary, but were all prepared and there were no issues.
We have so many pictures, and could only include a few of the gorgeous views we experienced daily. We love our family so much, however, we respect that some of them do not like their pictures take or posted online, so we are keeping many photos private.
Next we have some quick trips through Wyoming and South Dakota, as we head to celebrate a family wedding.
