We feel very fortunate during this crazy time with Covid-19, to be able to travel and visit family and friends in a safe, socially distanced way. It is also great to be able to go “home” and sleep in our own bed, and have fun with them again the next day. Our first stop was the Kansas City area to visit my parents, brother and sister. I had the opportunity to take care of a number of tasks that my family needed some help with. It was so nice to be able to have the time to give back to them, after all they have done for me. There definitely was time to relax, enjoy great food and conversation, and explore the local trails. Next we were able to park our RV in Mike’s mothers back yard in Omaha. It was so convenient and allowed us to have more time to complete some chores for her as well as many meals and games. Most of Mike’s siblings were able to attend an outdoor multi-family birthday celebration, and we had a blast. I got a chance to go to Mike’s sister Michele’s house and see her elaborate miniature collection that she has been working on for decades. It was pretty amazing to see! Omaha had fantastic indian summer weather while we were in town wich made for a lot of great bike ride, runs and time at the lake with friends. Finally, we made two quick stops in Kearney and Ogallala Nebraska. Kearney is home to my alma mater, one of the campus locations for the University of Nebraska. We really appreciated all the parks and trails that have been added in recent years.
Colorado, here we come!
