We spent two and half weeks with family in Kansas City and Dallas, before we begin our final journey to Florida for the winter. Being able to see family more often is truly one of the best things about full-time RV life. We were able to spend a lot of time just relaxing, shopping, biking, eating and just visiting in Kansas City. I especially loved visiting a cherished park from my childhood and watching our hometown Washington Nationals win the World Series. Go Nats!
Snow was in the forecast again, so we had to move quicker than we like through Missouri and Oklahoma to avoid bad weather to get to the Dallas area. The highlight of this drive was getting to stop at our favorite fuel stop, Buc-cees, which is definitely worth the trip. We camped in Eisenhower State Park in Denison, Texas on Lake Texoma. We enjoyed hiking and biking in the park, and saw our first bobcats. Our favorite part of course was spending time with our daughter, Erica and her husband Shane and their little dog Timmy! We went to First Monday in Canton, Texas, the largest Flea Market in America, where their company River Birch Candles had a booth. It was great to see them almost sell out of their products and to explore this cool marketplace. The icing on the cake for this visit was getting to meet up with my sister and Mike’s brother and wife for a lovely dinner. Life is good!
