Mike and I both celebrated birthday’s in the past week. We truly don’t mind being a year older with so much to look forward to!! We went to Mount Rushmore on Mike’s birthday and hiked nearby trails. It truly is a “bucket” list place to visit along with the Crazy Horse Memorial . Our niece Kylie came to dinner at our RV for dinner on Mike’s birthday, while we were still in the Black Hills. She is doing an internship in Rapid City. Being able to see our families and friends more than once a year, is truly one of the best parts of full time RV life. We will see most of family members in the next few months and some really good friends from college.
To close out our trip in the Black Hills, I biked the 109 mile Mickelson Trail from Deadwood, SD to Edgemont, SD and climbed Black Elks Peak, the highest point in South Dakota.
We are currently in Wyoming for the first time for both of us. For my birthday, I had a great run on a trail along the North Platte River and then Mike and I hiked the Bridle trail on Casper Mountain, to see a waterfall and great views. Next we had our joint birthday dinner at FireRock Steakhouse and took a great evening drive through nature in Edness Kimball Wilkens State Park.
Life is Good!!
