We truly appreciate the opportunities our new lifestyle has given us to explore the United States, especially to spend time in the great outdoors! Pike’s Peak in Colorado Springs, was the inspiration for “America the Beautiful” . We drove to the summit for the spectacular view. It was a little scary for me, I have to admit, but it was definitely worth the trip!
Garden of the God’s is an amazing geological wonder also located in Colorado Springs. We took several hikes and bike rides in this amazing public park. It was so peaceful with so many different red rock formations. We continued our quest to see Bighorn sheep in this park, however, still no luck. We will keep looking for them as well as other wildlife on our journey.
Thankfully, we had great weather and were able to get in some mountain biking. The RV park we stayed in was right next to Garden of the God’s and Red Rock Canyon. It was so great to be able to walk to these parks from our campsite. I also had a great run on Pike Peak Greenway, a fantastic trail that runs through Colorado Springs.
Our next campsite is Cheyenne Mountain State Park. We are looking forward to seeing our Godson who lives in Denver, and doing more mountain biking.
